BMW X5 (E53) 4.8is for sale, fitted with professionally fitted, certified and registered Stag LPG fuel system. I have had this car since 2014 and am the second owner. This car is fully loaded with every optional extra available at the time. These include: - Integrated sat nav- CD multi changer and tape player (must have thought tapes were making come back)- TV with Freeview- Heated front an rear seats- Heated steering wheel (this is life saver in winter)- Electric seats, with memory drivers seat In 2006 somebody paid ??59k for this car so it is lot of car for the money. It is very quick and powerful and sounds amazing when you put your foot down. Even in idle, the grumble that it makes sounds fantastic. I have just noticed that the MOT is due next month so will get that done and make sure it comes with full 12 months. LPG System As soon as bought it had an LPG fuel system professionally fitted. This is fully registered so you can take advantage of slight reduction in road tax (about ??10), and also think there is some noise about London congestion charge being wavered, but please confirm this yourself. The big advantage of the LPG system is that it makes 4.8L, 360hp performance car an affordable car to run day to day. The computer has me averaging 16mpg, and can buy gas for 49.9p/l. On motorways you can expect to pay up to 60p/l. With slight reduction in efficiency, you are basically driving at the same price as car on 30mpg. If you drive on motorways this will increase. The gas tank is 100ltrs which fits 70ltrs of gas maximum (to allow for gas expansion etc). So this is ??35 for full tank. Driving on country roads to work and back get up to 300 miles from tank. If am motorway driving will get in excess of 350 miles, so it really is as good as it sounds. Petrol stations with gas are lot more common now. Nearly every town has at least one, and you can usually find them easily on the internet. Probably 50% of stations on the M6 sell gas. Condition The car has full service history and has been well maintained. Other than things like suspension bushes, link arms etc haven't had to do any major jobs to it. The car is in general good condition. There are small fine scratches here and there typical of car of this age. There is scuff on the rear bumper (see photo). This is only minor and have previously been quoted ??50 to repair. Inside is clean and tidy with all leather in good condition. The drivers seat has two very small holes which do not stand out. The interior trim has carbon fibre effect wrap on it which does look good. This can be peeled off if you want to reveal brown/grey wood effect dash. This is in good condition, but just wasn't keen on it. The Bad..... So the reason this car is so cheap compared to others of similar age is because it has an engine fault. This fault is known fault which comes from the factory. Below is link which is the official BMW technical bulletin describing it, but in summary, in cold weather the car can take number of attempts to start, and in very cold weather the car will idle rough for about 20 seconds. After this the car makes an adjustment internally and it is back to normal. In temperatures of 5'-10'C it will take two or three attempts to start. Around freezing it can take more attempts. The car always starts though, and in summer you won't have any problems. Once it has started in the morning it is fine for the rest of the day. https://xoutpost.com/attachments/x5-e53-forum/38748d1262122605-intermediate-levers-issue-06-sib-20rough-20idle-1-.pdf If you do bit of research you will see that most people with this fault just live with it, and that is what I've done for the last years. If you are happy to do the same, you are getting car which sells for ??9k plus, for much less. I am selling because am getting company car, otherwise would have kept it. The car is still used every day so the mileage may go over 80,000 depending on how quickly it sells. I am happy to answer any questions on the car. Please ask via eBay, or phone me 07818188090.
