1998 E39 BMW 523i Manual with FSH and MOT til August for sale
Selling my 523i which has MOT till August, FSH and recently replaced front shocks and tie rods (less than 100 miles ago)
Anyway on to the details:
I bought the car as an interim between company car had and new car have on order, it was very local to me and only needed bit of work doing to it to get it up to scratch for the road so bought it.
In the time I've had it I've replaced both front shocks (Sachs OEM) the top mounts, the full tie rod assemblies (and had the car tracked) and replaced the rocker cover gasket. These were the main things that needed doing to make it so it was safe on the road.
The service history is brilliant and shows 15 stamps, its due another service in the next few months I'd say.
MOT is August this year which the upper rear control arms will need doing for would think (??40 corner Fitting) you feel bit of vibration over 65mph due to this needing doing. I'll supply the NSR one for free.
It has some dings and scrapes and lacquer peel on the boot.
All the electrics work including the remote central locking and alarm, the aircon is cold as well.
It has keys.
It has the desirable 16" Style BBS alloys (no, really look it up!), although only one cap is still original BMW, one has lot's it's badge and the other two are transformer logos!
Points to note:
Has sunroof!
Has 16" Style alloys
Headlights are bit cloudy so could do with clean up.
Gearbox and clutch are good, although 5th can be stiff at times (probably could do with gearbox oil change)
Exhaust is good with no leaks
Tyres all have good amount of tread.
All brake pads are pretty chunky and discs are good apart from the usual bit of corrosion
No oil leaks since sorted the rocker cover!
No rust on any arches or sills which is bit rare for these!
No issues with ABS or CEL
Thats pretty much all can think of at the moment so basically it's good car, only needs the rear control arms doing eventually to bring it back to handling A++ Like say only did what had to do to get it to safe standard.
