Here for sale is my 1994 BMW 525tds touring, bought this touring recently as wanted black interior for my other touring. I've done the swap and now this needs to go so can have my driveway space back.
I drove it from the south coast to the midlands when bought it and it drives really well, certainly doesn't feel like 200k mile car. The 2.5 turbodiesel engine pulls strongly and the speed autobox shifts through the gears smoothly, the gearbox also has sport and winter modes which work fine.
It has full grey leather interior fitted which is in really great order. As did total interior swap from my other touring, it has been fully cleaned out. The headlining is original to the car however which can be seen to be peeling little from the sunroof panels.
These cars are very practical having massive boot, and particularly this car as it has tow bar fitted which is nice extra.
A previous owner has also fitted some HID headlights and CD MP3 radio both of which work well.
There is little rust on the car as is to be expected but from what I've seen its pretty limited, theres bit behind one of the rear arches above the rear bumper, and bit on the drivers door bottom corner.
The alternator belt does seem to squeal little bit on occasion but I've not looked into this, could just be the belt needs tightening
Please note that the following on this car don't work: Driver and passenger airbags (no warning light though), sunroof, alarm (BMW fitted system)
The car also has the common tds issue where the engine can cut out as you get between 1/4 and 1/3 of tank left. This is because of an ring on the bottom of the lift pump which degrades and lets air into the lines. have this ring and it is included with the sale. was going to fit it but the tank is currently full (??75 worth of BP diesel!) which makes getting to the lift pump tricky, with less full tank its an easy job and the car is priced accordingly.
The full tank of diesel will get you home with ease though as these cars are very economical, particularly the automatics which can cruise at 70mph at only about 1750rpm or so.
The car has an MOT until March and is currently SORN'd so will need to be taxed before it can be driven away.
I have some limited paperwork with the car which show that some good maintenance has been carried out on the car in recent years; it had gearbox fluid change and flush last year as well as new windscreen, front dampers and top mounts were done couple of years ago as well.
All in all, its good workhorse of car, and with few little jobs sorted should make reliable car for years to come.
The car is located in Bedworth and will listen to near offers on the price (cash on collection only), please message if you have any questions, no exports.
Thanks for looking!
